Sell digital goods in Telegram for crypto: a practical guide

How to sell digital goods in Telegram for crypto: the order flow, what Qvard plans for Telegram checkout and the working path with the API today.

Selling digital goods in Telegram for crypto means a customer buys a file, a course or an access key from your bot and pays in crypto. Qvard plans a Telegram checkout for this, and it is not released yet. This guide explains the order flow and the path that works today with the API, the hosted page and the webhook.

Why digital goods suit Telegram

A digital product needs no shipping, so the whole sale can happen in the chat: the customer chooses an item, pays and receives access. The bot becomes the storefront and the delivery desk.

Status: the Telegram checkout is on the roadmap

A native Qvard Telegram checkout is not released yet, and this article does not describe it as available. The flow below uses the live API, the hosted payment page and the webhook.

The order flow today

The bot creates a payment with POST /api/v1/payment for the chosen item, sends the redirectUrl as a button and waits for the webhook. When the status is paid, the bot delivers the item or the access.

{ "id": "order_1024", "status": "paid" }

Deliver only after the webhook

Give the file or the access key only after the webhook confirms the paid status for that order id. Showing a delivery before the payment is confirmed invites refunds and disputes.

Prices and currency

Set the price in USD in the payment request. The hosted page shows the exact crypto amount for the chosen asset and network, at a fixed rate for the invoice lifetime.

Support and refunds

Keep the order id, the payment id and the final status in your records. These three values answer almost every support question about a purchase.

FAQ

Can I sell digital goods in Telegram for crypto today?

Yes. The bot creates the payment with the API, sends the redirectUrl as a button and delivers the item after the webhook confirms the paid status. A native Telegram checkout is on the roadmap.

When should the bot deliver the file?

Only after the webhook delivers the id and the status paid for that order.

What if the customer pays but does not receive the item?

Check the order id and the webhook records first. Deliver the item from the paid status, and keep the records for support.

Can I test a sale before launch?

Yes. Create a demo invoice from a test product, pay it on the hosted page and confirm that the bot delivers after the webhook.
